I was previously co-chair and co-founder of the Big Design Conference, an annual UX conference. I initially helped curate content and speakers. I developed a social media strategy that included pulling analytics from Twitter and managing groups on Facebook and LinkedIn.
My co-chair and co-founder did an amazing job using email marketing and, in turn, together we would design and build a following using Mailchimp. The conference grew from a few hundred attendees to well over one thousand within a five-year period.
Instead of comment cards, we monitored Twitter since our audience was social media heavy. We would then use that information to attract new sponsors. Each year our reach grew.
